Can Biden Unite Democrats to Save Democracy

President Biden is in Europe to “rally the world’s democracies,” but can he unite the Democratic Party to save democracy at home?

Voting rights, infrastructure, and the January 6 Commission have all failed to overcome the Republican filibuster in the senate. Bipartisanship in the Senate is DOA with Republicans united behind an election strategy of obstructionism and voter suppression to win back Congress in 2022. To save our democracy at home, President Biden must find a way to unite the Democratic Party.

Opinion: Joe Biden: My trip to Europe is about America rallying the world’s democracies, The Washington Post | 6/5/2021

This is a defining question of our time: Can democracies come together to deliver real results for our people in a rapidly changing world? Will the democratic alliances and institutions that shaped so much of the last century prove their capacity against modern-day threats and adversaries? I believe the answer is yes. And this week in Europe, we have the chance to prove it.
