Biden calls white supremacy ‘poison’ after meeting with Buffalo families, Roll Call | 5/17/2022

President Joe Biden on Tuesday called on Americans to reject the “poison” of white supremacy and urged lawmakers — again — to ban “weapons of war” like the rifle a white teenager allegedly used to kill 10 people while targeting Black shoppers at a grocery store in Buffalo on Saturday.

In a major escalation, the Department of Justice has requested transcripts from the January 6th committee. The committee has interviewed more than 1,000 people, including close associates of former president Donald Trump and Trump’s children.
